In 2023, I Watch You Sleep was an orchestral celebration with pianist and arranger Scott Dunn, in tribute to Richard Rodney Bennett. In 2020, a collaboration with big band arranger and trombonist Callum Au, titled Songs & Stories, highlighted jazz standards and classics from the Great American Songbook; and the previous year, in 2019, she released Bumpin' with a quartet led by Scottish guitarist Jim Mullen, showcasing the compositions of Wes Montgomery. Before these three recordings for Stunt Records, she worked with Kenny Barron, Bill Charlap, and Martin Taylor, made a series of duo recordings with Richard Rodney Bennett, and undertook projects with the BBC Big Band, the BBC Concert Orchestra, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. On her new album, Almost in Your Arms, Claire returns to her highly experienced Swedish trio consisting of pianist Martin Sjöstedt, bassist Niklas Fernqvist, and drummer Daniel Fredriksson. They accompanied her on her 2019 album, Believin' It, for the Linn label and had played together the previous year at Ronnie Scott's Club in London, before performing to sold-out audiences in Sweden and Madrid. Joining the trio are: Swedish saxophonist Karl-Martin Almqvist, American vibraphonist Joe Locke, British guitarist Mark Jaimes, pianist Nikki Iles (here on accordion), the voice of American organist and pianist Charlie Wood, as well as producer James McMillan on trumpet, flugelhorn, keyboards, and programming.
