"Explosiv!" is the band's full album set to be released in 2025.Swedish punk rockers City Saints announce the release of their highly anticipated new studio album: "Explosiv!" is the band's sixth album since their formation in Gothenburg in 2012. Since then, the band has toured extensively across Europe and accumulated millions of streams.City Saints have made a name for themselves with their "take no prisoners" attitude on "High Voltage" and their catchy choruses. "Explosiv!" is no exception. The album can be seen as an affectionate tribute to the band's hometown, Gothenburg. Both in terms of lyrics and musical influence from the late 70s and early 80s Gothenburg punk scene, the new songs were appropriately re-recorded in their native language. "Explosiv!" kicks off with a surprise in "Gota Älv", inspired by Ennio Morricone. This atmospheric number paves the way for a series of fast-paced, anthemic songs like "Majorna" and "På G", where a touch of the Ramones spirit is immediately noticeable. The band's love for resolutely playful and dirty rock'n'roll with snotty vocals and maximum speed is clearly felt in "Blod & Bly" and "Kranarnas Stad". There are further surprises in the form of the title track, in which a wild bass solo lives up to the name "Explosiv!", and the outro "Fan Ta Er", a short live excerpt played in an intimate setting with just vocals and harmonica to a driving beat.For the new album, City Saints once again worked with producer Chips Kiesbye, known for his work with The Hellacopters and Michael Monroe. The result is a natural-sounding record that is reminiscent of the stripped-down productions of punk rock's golden age. The band fully utilized Kiesbye's talent and was also able to invite the singer and guitarist of "Sator" to perform in the studio on "Explosiv!" on mandolin and accordion. The LP comes as a 180 gram collector's edition. Vinyl in a gatefold and in addition to the classic black vinyl also in 2 limited color variations.
