2012 marks the year when Citizen, a band from Michigan, transitioned from being an underground Midwest act to a must-see national phenomenon. Young States is a compilation that highlights the talent of this young quintet for crafting songs that are both poignant and irresistibly catchy. This reissue includes the five tracks from the Young States EP (originally released in a limited edition on the Midwest label Either/Or Records), their two songs from the split with Turnover (Virginia), acoustic versions of those two tracks, as well as a cover of The Smiths.
