After 40 years as co-founder, singer, and songwriter for the new wave band The B-52s, Cindy Wilson is embarking on her first solo project. For the occasion, she has surrounded herself with musician friends from Athens, Georgia: Ryan Monahan (Easter Island, PacificUV), Lemuel Hayes (Electrophoria, PacificUV), Suny Lyons (DreamBoat, Lovers, PacificUV), and Marie Davon (Powerkompany). *Change* marks a profound shift from her previous records, featuring echoes of Air, Björk, Tame Impala, and Gary Numan, in a mix of new-wave and electro-pop that the band describes as 'Turbo Chill.' Instead of singing with her rock voice, Cindy Wilson experiments with more subtle and emotional vocalizations, singing with a soft, murmuring voice over intricate psychedelic swirls, Quincy Jones-esque strings, and energetic synths.
