Description

Spirit of 3 is primarily a musical and spiritual encounter between the inspired pen of Christophe Dal Sasso and the prayerful words of Shekinah Rodz. It is then an energy that operates with eight voices, brushing against the boundaries of jazz in a celebration of the number three: past, present, future; melody, rhythm, silence… three beats to dance with balance in all that the universe holds of the ternary within it. An American saxophonist, flutist, and singer, Shekinah grew up in Puerto Rico and honed her skills with the great masters of salsa before returning to the United States. Her unique "charanga" style on the flute, the influences of Jazz, R&B, Latin music, and bossa in her voice, her powerful sound on the saxophones, and her great ease in playing various repertoires make Rodz a remarkable artist on the contemporary scene.
