In his second album, "Urfuglen", guitarist Christian Winther harks back to the way the post-punk era combined contemporary impulses with artistic sensibility and follows up on his debut album "The Clearing" from last year. Innovative noise and jazzy experimentation are part of the new Norwegian image here too, but with a genuine desire to find the beautiful moment, the shimmering harmony. The band around Christian Winther consists of some of the country's most open-minded musicians, or those with a post-punk way of thinking, from bands such as Broen, Valkyrien Allstars, Monkey Plot, and Mall Girl. Anja Lauvdal on synths/piano, Tuva Syvertsen on fiddles/vocals, Ina Sagstuen on vocals/electronics, Magnus Nergaard on bass, and Veslemoy Narvesen on drums, in addition to Winther on guitars and vocals. Each of them has a strong signature and contributes to an open soundscape, full of zest, surprises, and spontaneity. The intuition is striking, and the record is mostly recorded live in the studio.
