Since his 2016 debut LP, *Passive With Desire*, released under the moniker Choir Boy, Adam Klopp has been crafting nostalgic anthems, utilizing the swirling 1980s synth sound to deliver dark, captivating, and cinematic songs that spread brooding sorrow and brilliant hope. Raised in the Mormon faith, Adam spent his youth in the pews of his place of worship, but also scrambling in DIY punk venues, before leaving the sect in the midst of a mission in Tahiti. The duality of faith and fiction is at the heart of the lush explorations of this debut album. Recorded at Studio Dada, the album's tracks were transformed into sketches brimming with theatrical flamboyance, wounds left by loss, and allusions to the happy days of nocturnal and electronic pop. Retaining elements of Adam's original demos, *Passive With Desire* was recorded with a full band, and completed with trumpet, strings, as well as archival samples evoking his hazy youth. Recorded by Adam Klopp, Bret Meisenbach, and Stephen Cope, *Passive With Desire* is the entry point into Choir Boy's world, where sensitive wit, literary lyricism, and a traditional synth-driven songwriting approach intertwine, all united by the universal themes of loss, desire, evolution, and exploration.
