After two volumes of "Groove Sessions" compilations, the time had come for the three Zen Spirit warriors to create a true debut album with Hip Hop, Dub, and Electro sounds. "Racing with the Sun" was conceived as the soundtrack to a film where mysterious characters intertwine throughout the tracks. To achieve this, the trio scoured record bins to extract the best samples, explore other musical horizons, and new atmospheres: Chinese Reggae ("Miss Chang"), Gospel boosted with UK Dub ("Racing with the Sun"), old-school Hip Hop mixed with Traditional Music ("Stand!")... the trio confronts their usual worlds with unknown territories. The group collaborated with producer Sodi (producer for Fela and Femi Kuti) to bring all his expertise to this album and give Chinese Man's sound a new dimension.
