“APOLLO” is the first album of chien noir in which the artist transforms into an astronaut of the pop galaxy, traveling back in time to the variety of the 80s and 90s, that of his childhood. From JEAN-JACQUES GOLDMAN to PHIL COLLINS, passing through SPRINGSTEEN, DAVID BOWIE, MIKE AND THE MECHANICS... These references are evident in the production as well as in the songs, equipped with the same means and desires as back then: let the music sound, sound, sound! And let it resonate with our sensitive strings. Chien noir tells of love, friendship, departures and reunions, exhilarations and melancholy, everything that makes up our lives. Like a vast coming-of-age story, an eternal restart where writing becomes “a wonderful prism to see through oneself.” This introspection is made possible by a pop sound structure, accessible, warm. The twelve tracks, rich from the path already paved by the two EPs of chien noir, have benefited from the contributions of LIONEL BUZAC, keyboardist MARTIN LEFEBVRE, and TRISTAN SALVATI. From the melancholic minimalism of “DANS LES YEUX LE MONDE” to the auto-tuned dance of “JULIA,” from the eighties R’n’B of “OVILDO” to the Anglo-Saxon mid-tempo of “SI J’ÉTAIS TOI,” from the folk ballad “RIEN À VOIR” to the spacious pop, with hip hop echoes, of “TON CŒUR”... The artist's singing is more assertive than ever.
