Following the unanimous critical success of the first CD Chicago Blues: A Living History - nominated and awarded around the world, including a Grammy nomination, and recognized as the greatest tribute ever to Chicago Blues - the group is releasing its highly anticipated second album, Chicago Blues: A Living History-The (R)evolution Continues. As with the first CD, the city of Aulnay-sous-Bois is co-executive producer of this recording. Thus, France has the privilege of the worldwide release on January 15, 2011, with the release for the United States and the rest of Europe scheduled for April 2011. With The (R)evolution Continues, Chicago Blues: A Living History continues its tribute to Chicago Blues by celebrating the evolution of this music that was at the forefront of the American musical revolution of the 20th century. This evolution not only laid the foundations of Rock & Roll and Pop music as we know them today, but had an incalculable effect on American society as a whole, and a notable influence on people's lives around the world, as much as any other American art form. According to Larry Skoller, producer of the CD and artistic director of the Aulnay All Blues Festival, "the key to building on the success of the first volume was to invite reference artists of the genre and emerging artists who could not only make an important musical contribution but, more significantly, who would complement the main artists of the first recording - Billy Boy Arnold, John Primer, Billy Branch, Lurrie Bell and Carlos Johnson - around whom this project was conceived. For Larry Skoller, thanks to the success of the first CD, he was able to invite the undisputed king of Chicago Blues Mr. Buddy Guy, as well as the legends James Cotton and Magic Slim, to take part in the album. He also invited Ronnie Baker Brooks, who is leading a new generation of Chicago Blues artists who blend old blues with modern sounds, traditional blues with contemporary blues, bringing the genre into the 21st century. Not only did these Chicago Blues icons accept Larry Skoller's invitation to record on the album, they brought their extraordinary passion and generosity to the project. Skoller states, "through their overflowing enthusiasm, it was clear that the opportunity to take part in this tribute to the music they pioneered means something special to each of them." Although Chicago Blues and its representatives may never have the chance to be part of the mainstream of pop culture, they have nevertheless done much to create it; the Raisin' Music label hopes that with the group's first CD, Chicago Blues: A Living History-The (R)evolution Continues will serve as a unique and exciting musical experience for Blues lovers, but will also contribute to the heritage of music for generations of Blues fans to come. Chicago Blues: A Living History will perform live at the 4th edition of the Aulnay All Blues Festival on Saturday November 20 and Sunday November 21 at Espace Jacques Prévert in Aulnay-sous-Bois. Ronnie Baker Brooks will also perform live at Le Cap during the Festival on Tuesday November 16. For all information about the Festival, please visit www.aulnayallblues.com.
