In The Earth Again is a collaborative album between Oklahoma noise rock band Chat Pile and Texan guitarist and composer Hayden Pedigo. Inspired by the beauty and decay of the rural American Midwest, the album marks an unprecedented synthesis of their respective musical universes. This project, initially conceived as a simple split, evolved into an ambitious joint work where each artist explores previously unknown facets of their music. Chat Pile explores less cold arrangements, experiments with sample and tape manipulation, and writes the most personal lyrics of their entire discography. For Hayden Pedigo, this collaboration allowed the guitarist to explore darker and more visceral, yet sensorily evocative, aspects of his solo work. In The Earth Again presents a portrait of societal decay. Throughout its thirty-six minutes, it alternates rustic tones, angry aggression, and catharsis.
