Somptuous collection of ten songs, ranging from traditional hymns to anti-militarist folk songs, revisiting works from his previous recordings. In 2015, the iconic saxophonist Charles Lloyd continued his innovative trajectory into the high spheres of jazz and other spiritual worlds filled with beauty and wonder. He enjoyed an exceptional year, receiving honors from the 'National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Masters' and making a triumphant return to Blue Note Records with his remarkable live album Wild Man Dance. This creative dive continues with an extraordinary suite at Blue Note, I Long to See You, a recording of immaculate beauty, refined elegance with passionate emotions and a wholly spiritual sensitivity. Lloyd recruited the rhythmic core of his steadfast New Quartet, bassist Reuben Rogers and drummer Eric Harland, and invited high-profile collaborators including the extraordinary guitarist Bill Frisell and the ethereal pedal steel player, Greg Leisz.
