Environmental issues having always been central to his repertoire, CharlElie Couture has decided to highlight, with "Projet Bleu Vert", his lyrics that celebrate the love of nature and the need for a form of degrowth. As an astute observer, armed with his poetic gaze, CharlElie Couture did not wait for official reports and headlines to sense that life was in decline. From his very first album in 1978, he sang "Le jardin de mon oncle," which is featured on this album, where he invites us to remain clear-sighted about the future (Projet) of the seas (Bleu) and lands (Vert). This album, with all proceeds going to France Nature Environnement, consists of ten tracks from his discography, plus one unreleased song and a poem by Paul Watson that he set to music. Like a good captain, he wanted from the start to create a team of voices to "re-present" his songs, which thus become duets to be even stronger. It features long-time acquaintances (Jean-Louis Aubert, Angélique Kidjo, Yannick Noah, Cali, Kent...) alongside new additions (René Nunes, Pursang, Papillon Paravel, Souleymane Diamanka...), as well as his daughter Yamée, "all friends." While the genesis of Projet Bleu Vert was obvious, almost a cry, the decision that all profits would be donated to France Nature Environnement (a federation bringing together over 6,000 associations) was immediate. The painter CharlElie Couture entrusted the cover design to his friend Michel Granger (author of Jean-Michel Jarre's iconic covers) who provided a beautiful image on a green and blue background of a planet in good hands. To take it all the way, the LP itself will be manufactured from environmentally friendly biovinyl.
