Supported by a large part of the French press at the time, their first album "November's Heat", released on the Le Havre label "L'Invitation Au Suicide" and distributed by New Rose, remains a masterpiece of US New Wave. On this current album "Downtown", which compiles unreleased tracks from 1981 and 1982, we discover Certain General's English influences in an even more striking way. From Gang Of Four (early albums) to Joy Division (Certain General even opened for New Order in England in the 80s).
