This anniversary coincides with the 150th anniversary of the death of Gioacchino Rossini, the composer who more than any other has marked Bartoli's career. For the occasion, the entirety of Cecilia Bartoli's Rossini recordings - audio and video - is gathered for the very first time in a sumptuous deluxe box set, enriched with unreleased material. In 15cd + 6dvd and in a limited edition, the box set reflects the authenticity, mastery, passion, and perfection characteristic of the most brilliant of Rossini's primissima donna. The unreleased recording of the orchestral transcription by Salvatore Sciarrino of the cantata Giovanna d'Arco, conducted by Riccardo Chailly, completes the collection. The trilingual 200-page booklet includes numerous essays by Rossini experts, including the director of the Fondazione Rossini, who has also provided a rich original iconography, in addition to the archival photos from Decca."
