Description
Cecilia Bartoli presents her new album "Farinelli". Through a selection of baroque arias, one of the greatest voices of the early 21st century retraces the life of the most famous castrato, Farinelli. The singer explores here the question of gender in the roles of baroque opera and highlights this phenomenon of the castrati who brought glory to many works of the time. To illustrate the singer's career, Cecilia Bartoli has chosen significant arias from the works of her brother Riccardo Broschi, her mentor Nicola Porpora, as well as Hasse, Caldara, and Giacomelli.
