The concert of the Cecil Taylor Unit at the Salle Pleyel in Paris on November 3, 1969, marks a significant moment in avant-garde jazz. Featuring Cecil Taylor on piano, Jimmy Lyons on alto saxophone, Sam Rivers on tenor and soprano saxophone as well as flute, and Andrew Cyrille on drums, this concert highlighted the intense and free style of the group. The recording was transferred from the original tapes preserved by INA, then restored and mastered by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab. This limited edition triple vinyl set on 180-gram vinyl includes a detailed insert with rare photographs from the concert and liner notes signed by the renowned jazz critic and author Phil Freeman.
