The album Live At The Cafe Montmartre by Cecil Taylor was hailed by critics as a historic concert, among the greatest live jazz recordings (according to the Penguin Guide to Jazz Recordings). These recordings capture Taylor at the peak of his art, accompanied by the great Sunny Murray on drums and Jimmy Lyons on alto saxophone, at the famous Cafe Montmartre in Copenhagen, on November 23, 1962. This box set is part of the rare recordings documenting Taylor's playing between 1962 and 1966.
