Mona Bone Jakon

Description

Cat Stevens achieved success as early as 1967 with his first two albums Matthew & Son and New Masters. However, struck by tuberculosis, he ceased all musical activity.
In 1970, after his recovery, he signed a new contract with Island Records and released Mona Bone Jakon. With producer Paul Samwell-Smith (former Yardbirds), they built this warm acoustic sound that would reach a global audience and revive the artist's career. The album includes the hits Lady D'Arbanville, I Wish, I Wish, and Maybe You're Right. Notably, young Peter Gabriel plays the flute on Katmandu.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its release, the album has been remixed and remastered by David Hefti, the Super Deluxe edition also offers demos, the Live at Plumpton Jazz & Blues Festival, and a blu-ray with the video of Lady D’Arbanville, eight TV performances, and the new mix of the album in HD.
