Dogs is Cash Langdon’s second album under his own name, but the first with his band Meadow Dust. Recorded mostly at Portside Studios (the former location of the legendary Muscle Shoals Sound) in just two days, engineer Brad Timko (Dan Sartain, St. Paul and The Broken Bones) captured the trio with a fierce, tight sound. Their fuzzy approach to heavy country rock recalls Neil Young and Crazy Horse and radiates the warmth of Langdon’s hometown of Birmingham. Like Young, his voice is at once earnest and world-wearweary, yet there is also a sense of humor and resignation. These songs are beautiful, burning testimonies to the ongoing violence of waking up to the world around us and the determination to stay awake regardless. Pressed on yellow vinyl.
