Description

"Haf" picks up where the previous album by Carwyn Ellis & Rio 18 (Fontana Rosa) left off, with about half of the record recorded in analog on tape at Gizzard Studios in London, as well as a final track from their sessions at the legendary — but now closed — Toerag Studios. Unlike the first two albums by Rio 18, recorded in Rio de Janeiro, Haf was recorded in London and Wales, then mixed in five intense days in Rio. Three days later, it was mastered and already at the pressing plant. Time does not wait for Carwyn Ellis & Rio 18! Finally, the track "Haf" and the album as a whole are dedicated to Haf Morris, Carwyn's former music teacher at Ysgol Syr Thomas Jones in Amlwch. He shares: "Her attention, guidance, and patience shaped me like no one else. I hope she has enjoyed my musical journey, wherever she is watching from. Diolch, Haf."
