Carlos Kleiber was one of the most charismatic conductors of the second half of the 20th century. His recordings are few, but those he made exclusively for Deutsche Grammophon are considered among the most remarkable in history. 10 years after his passing (on July 13, 2004), Deutsche Grammophon celebrates the unique art of Carlos Kleiber through a limited edition luxury box set, bringing together on 3 CDs his orchestral recordings of Beethoven, Schubert, and Brahms, fully remastered in 96 kHz/24-bit. The BluRay disc included in this edition contains the complete works as well as a 70-minute audio documentary retracing the highlights of Kleiber's career and transcribing his extraordinary ability to inspire the musicians with whom he worked. The 32-page booklet features a new article by Jon Tolanky, Kleiber's collaborator, and rare and unpublished photos of the conductor taken during recording sessions in Vienna in 1973.
