A native of Ancaster, Ontario, Carl Didur has been an enigmatic member of Toronto's underground music community for nearly two decades. After traversing the Golden Horseshoe with The Battleship, Ethel, a band spun out of his early outfit CEDRUMATIC, Didur quickly settled in Toronto. The Battleship, Ethel continued to tour, often performing as the backing band for Damo Suzuki, while at other shows they would invite Dave Byers (Simply Saucer) and Bob Bryden (Spirit Of Christmas) to perform alongside the band. With his latest album, “Maybe Next Time”, Didur asserts himself as a singular artist with a unique methodology, honed by years of listening and creating music. The album’s compositions oscillate between lush, Axelrod-esque string-filled adventures and the album's centerpiece, the spiritual jazz-influenced "The River Meets The Sea."
