Caribou, also known as the composer of euphoric, dazzlingly beautiful electronic psychedelia, Dan Snaith, returns with the exciting album Andorra. From the opening track Melody Day, which is arguably the most beautiful piece Dan Snaith has ever put his name to, it stands among the best experimental pop songs. While electronic in nature, it contains many other sounds. We hear a lot of gems in there. Love's Ambition, with flutes, strings, and a certain Arthur Lee quality to the vocals as well. Look at Sandy. There are echoes of psych-rock guitar and heavy Tintern Abbey drums. More modern notes of the Beta Band, and even a shared song title in She's the One. A few discreet electronic tracks help create an atmosphere for the brilliant, undeniably Niobe-influenced nine minutes.
