Our Ship Are Ready

Description

There is a reason why folk music has survived all the trials humanity has inflicted on it: it sustains people. And on their ninth album, “Our Ship Is Ready”, CARA does exactly what traditional music has always done: confront the harsh realities of our time head-on, while discerning what is worth preserving and celebrating. Emigration. Love. Loss. Climate change. These are not easy subjects, but CARA knows how to navigate troubled waters. With a repertoire blending their own original compositions and finely crafted arrangements of songs and tunes from Irish and Scottish traditions, the group intertwines the old and the new to create a work that is both timeless and contemporary.
