Candlemass (Polar Rough Mix) (20th Anniversary)

Description

Among his most iconic works, the album Candlemass (2005) stands out as a peak of intensity and mastery. At once heavy, melodic, and charged with a grandiose despair, it captured the very essence of doom in all its splendor. Entirely remixed for an even more abyssal sonic depth - 4 bonus tracks from the original demos to explore the creative roots of the album. A vibrant tribute to one of the most intense records in their discography. Candlemass is a Swedish doom metal band formed in Upplands Väsby, a suburb of Stockholm, in 1984 by bassist, songwriter and leader Leif Edling, and drummer Matz Ekstrom. The band had a decisive influence on doom metal, the epic genre taking its name from their first album, Epicus Doomicus Metallicus. Alongside Pentagram, Saint Vitus and Trouble, Candlemass is recognized as one of the "big four of doom metal." In November 2004, the band announced their second reunion. They recorded a new album, simply titled 'Candlemass', released in May 2005. This album earned them a Swedish Grammy that same year.
