Writer, director, actor, singer, and composer, he constantly seeks to escape classifications. 'Cavale', his new album, was born from this desire, for the first time, to embrace the multiple facets of his art, because 'Cavale' is not just a collection of songs, it is also a short film, a novella, and a book; pieces of a multiple puzzle with keys scattered that reveal themselves in their coherence when one becomes aware of the whole. In 11 tracks, 'Cavale' succeeds in marrying the best of the French tradition of lyrical song with the harmonic demands of Anglo-Saxon pop, but ultimately nothing surprising from someone who venerates The Waterboys as much as Ferré. Hope, love, life, humanity... leaving the deadly promise of a soulless world to rise and resist. Ultimately, 'Cavale' does mean to escape. The meeting with Augustin Charnet has already given birth to bold covers of Léo Ferré and beautiful moments of complicity on stage. This time, Cali announces the release of a new album, with unreleased tracks that will be performed live in a new format. The music of the upcoming album is the result of a close collaboration between Cali and Augustin Charnet, inseparable since their first steps together on the record "Cali sings Léo Ferré". They played on stage to defend this opus with Mike Ponton (guitarist of Dionysos), then they went back in the summer of 2019 for a few dates, this time covering Cali's tracks... And allowing Augustin to leave his mark. On such a beautiful momentum, they continued to think together about new music, which gives birth to the anticipated album. In his Facebook post, Cali describes Augustin as a "multi-talented composer, gifted, especially with the latest technologies." So many words that already spark the desire to hear what the two friends have managed to produce hand in hand!
