Konstrukt 5 by Buntspecht, released on March 14, 2025, includes the following tracks: "So viel zu sehn", "Die Stadt in Dir", "Wenn Du jetzt gehen", "Reprise" and many more."Konstruct 5", the new album by the Viennese indie pop collective Buntspecht, composed of 6 members, is driven by a radically wild beauty and a delirious psychedelic intensity. Buntspecht brings confidence and warmth in dark times through its unique musical style, which combines indie pop with influences from gypsy jazz, bossa nova, Viennese songs and folk.The confusion begins with the album title: "Konstruct 5" - which one would of course like to directly link to the number of previous albums until one notices: "Construct 5" is Buntspecht's sixth album, not the fifth. The title alludes more to the constant change of music and represents the fragile and temporary nature of the creative process.At the end of winter 2024, singer and guitarist Lukas Klein met Florentin Scheicher (trumpet, melodica) for a first session intended to lay the foundations for "Konstruct 5".The layers and samples from these sessions found their way into the final album unchanged, small constructions if you will.These miniature artifacts formed the basis for an album which, as always with Buntspecht, was ultimately elaborated with the original line-up of Antonia Luksch (cello, vocals), Roman Geßler (saxophone), Florian Rothel (drums) and Jakob Lang (bass), supplemented by additional songs and recorded in the studio.
