The Blues Don't Lie is the wonderful new album by Buddy Guy, his 34th studio album, which follows The Blues Is Alive and Well from 2018 (Grammy award). Produced by songwriter and drummer Tom Hambridge, The Blues Don't Lie features guests like Mavis Staples, Elvis Costello, James Taylor, Jason Isbell, and others... This album will be released almost 65 years after Buddy Guy's arrival in Chicago from Baton Rouge by train, on September 30, 1957. His only possessions were the clothes he was wearing and his guitar. His life was about to change forever, and he was resurrected in and by the Blues. The Blues Don't Lie tells the story of a lifetime journey. Reflecting on his work, Buddy states, "I promised them all: to B.B, to Muddy, to Sonny Boy that as long as I live, I will keep the blues alive." And he has proven it time and again since, declaring, "I am so eager for the world to hear my new album because the Blues never lies."
