Brutalligators, the indie-punk quartet from Hitchin, returns with Still Here, a queer album celebrating resilience, identity, and survival, blending catchy choruses and heartfelt lyrics about friendship, love, and gender. This second release marks a sonic and emotional evolution, combining the raw energy of their first record with more melodic moments, reminiscent of PUP, Menzingers, and Weezer. The songs explore queer acceptance, strong relationships, grief, and the joy of living, with tracks like Still Here, Get Better, and Wrong Words showcasing power and emotion. Largely produced DIY by drummer Rhys Kirkman and other collaborators, the album retains a homegrown touch while enriching the sonic palette with synths, piano, and organ.
