Funk ain't ova

Description

A funk collective of New York musicians and poets, Brooklyn Funk Essentials juggles with the same fury between scorching funk, ethnic jazz, live hip-hop, raw soul and world excursions. One single totem: groove. In addition to performing regularly on the stages of New York’s trendiest clubs, BFE has embarked on a series of tours around the world and has made a name for itself alongside artists such as Parliament Funkadelic, The Roots, James Brown, Jamiroquai, Spearhead and Ben Harper. Recorded live in the studio between Brooklyn, Birmingham and Stokholm, "Funk Ain't Ova" marks a return to "classic soul music". Notable are a duet with the late Isaac Hayes and an appearance by the legendary house diva Chrystal Waters in this collection of songs, which was an opportunity for reunions between current and former musicians of this "all star band".
