Far from the sanitized plans of a music industry obsessed with algorithms, BRNS rediscovers its soul and makes a real comeback with "Celluloid Swamp". Whether on stage or in the studio, the trio tirelessly challenges certainties, while blowing up the boundaries between genres. For their fourth album, BRNS broke free from the past to explore new possibilities. Recorded in the den of Studio G, in Brooklyn, this new album, ‘Celluloid Swamp’, benefited from the enlightened ideas of sound engineer Alexis Berthelot (Moses Sumney, Frank Ocean), before being finalized in the verdant settings of Outlier Inn, a bucolic retreat frequented by Big Thief, Solange or Parquet Courts. The result of a seven-day New York road trip, the album was built without a map or compass: the nine tracks that punctuate the record were created in the moment and, above all, by instinct. In the interest of efficiency, the Brussels-based band retreated behind an extremely simplified creative process. While the band now goes straight to the point, their compositions are never linear. Between deleterious atmospheres and shafts of light, multiple counterpoints lay the foundations for a futuristic album.
