Braids is a Montreal-based experimental pop trio. Formed in 2007 in Calgary by Raphaelle Standell, Austin Tufts, and Taylor Smith, Braids is a collaborative whole. To record their third album "Deep In The Iris," Braids went on a series of retreats in the mountains of Arizona, Vermont, and New York. Surrounded by nature and its comforting vitality, the long-time friends crafted their most structured album, both strong and fragile, deeply human.
