Recorded in the Lower East Side and mixed at Key Club Recording Company, on the same Flickinger N32 Matrix console as Sly Stone's 'There's A Riot Goin' On', their new album Brood X is a serious album for serious times, the perfect soundtrack for a much-needed revolution. Led by Jon Spencer and his incredible partner Cristina Martinez, the band made their stage debut at CBGB in Manhattan. After a first album released with the help of Steve Albini on Amphetamine Reptile records in 1989, the band signed with Geffen for their second in 1995. "A lot of underground bands were signing with majors who sensed the tide turning since Nirvana," says Spencer. But the band imploded. In 2000, they decided to release their third opus on an independent label. Today, the band emerges from hibernation, and it's not a moment too soon!
