1920-2020, Centenary of the birth of BORIS VIAN. This year we celebrate a French writer, poet, lyricist, jazz musician, singer, music critic and artistic director: BORIS VIAN. An emblematic figure of the golden years of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, passionate about jazz, he frequented the greatest American jazzmen passing through. Boris Vian is behind many standards such as 'Le déserteur', 'La java des bombes atomiques', 'On n'est pas là pour se faire engueuler', 'J'suis snob' sung by several generations of artists, from Juliette Gréco to Olivia Ruiz, including Montand, Reggiani, Mouloudji and many others. He was also an artistic director at Philips where he collaborated with Henri Salvador and Serge Gainsbourg, among others. An engineer trained at the École Centrale, he is the author of three major novels, among others: J'irai cracher sur vos tombes, L'Arrache-cœur and L'Écume des jours.
