Since his beginnings in 2001, the famous Brighton DJ and producer Simon Green - aka Bonobo, has seen his music featured in many ads and shows of all kinds. After a 5th album last April on the famous label of his beginnings Ninja Tune, it seemed only natural that his name should finally be linked to that of the famous Late Night Tales collection. His smooth selection gives pride of place to jazz, from Bill Evans to the brass of the Menehan Street Band or Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, via the harp of the great Dorothy Ashby. He also takes hold of the soul voices of the essential Nina Simone and the more obscure Darondo or the more recent Eddi Front or Peter and Kerry for weightless ballads. Of course, from Lapalux to Airhead, ambient electro is the order of the day, a hallmark of the work of an artist who here chooses to cover the great Donovan (Get Thy Bearings) for the obligatory cover exercise! But it is all said from the drifting intro by Dustin O'Hallloran: Bonobo's selection will be the restorative balm of a rainy autumn, the ideal companion for romantic evenings. THE COLLECTION The LateNightTales collection was created in 2001. The basic idea: to offer a recognized artist the opportunity to select his favorite tracks (influences, favorites...) and to complete the set with an unreleased cover created for the occasion. After 32 compilations (Metronomy, Air, Arctic Monkeys, The Cinematic Orchestra, Trentemoller, MGMT, .) and more than 1 million albums sold, here for this 33rd volume is the selection of Simon Green aka BONOBO.
