Bonobo is the stage name of British musician Simon Green, born in 1976 and originating from Brighton, UK. He began his career with the 1999 single "Terrapin" and released his debut album Animal Magic in 2000 on the Tru Thoughts label, pioneering a downtempo style built on layered samples and instrumental textures. Later signing with Ninja Tune in 2001, he expanded his sound to include jazz, electro, and world music influences.
