Since her first single "Muscles" released in 2012, through her debut album Sexy Planet, and multiple collaborations (Myth Syzer, Chassol, Jazzy Bazz, Flavien Berger...), Bonnie Banane sings her own lyrics, playful, absurd, and sensual in her irony. Trained in dramatic arts, she brings a theatricality to a genre that is constantly questioned in its legitimacy and often orphaned: French R&B. She imbues each of her tracks with a unique tension, between the surrealism of Brigitte Fontaine and the fever of D'Angelo. With Sexy Planet, Bonnie Banane wanted above all to pay a compliment to the planet, which welcomes us so kindly, through a system of musical flirting. A way to win it over so that it spares her from its moods. As a fan, Bonnie Banane identifies with it as a woman: it too has its own universe. By listing everything she finds sexy, the planet comes first: brimming with secrets, it hesitates, incorrigible, to hold back its effects. At the bottom of the list, tied for last: the homophobic poacher in denial, the racist soldier proud of it. Somewhere between the two lies the essence of this album, which is nothing more than a synthesis of her thoughts. Bonnie Banane has crafted the lyrics as magical formulations that, combined with melodies that haunt her like tics, can serve as tricks to enter the virtuous circle of hope, aiming for a global reconciliation. So that everyone feels at ease. Besides giving an extra reason to dance, her dearest wish is to be part of the soundtrack of others' lives. For Sexy Planet, Bonnie Banane surrounded herself with many producers she is close to, such as Para One, Varnish La Piscine, Loubenski, Théo Lacroix, Ponko & Prinzly, and Monomite.
