Everything, the debut album from the Chicago quartet Bnny, could just as easily be a field recording from the lonely land of grief. Written over several years by singer Jess Viscius as she processed the death of her partner, the album chronicles love in its most complex form and loss in its most persistent. In the same vein as Wilco's Sky Blue Sky era or the heartbreaking vulnerability of Tomberlin or Helena Deland, Viscius's writing is evocative and intentional. A long-time member of the Windy City music scene, the album was produced by Jason Balla of Dehd, and the sparse arrangements unpack complicated truths while feeling both timeless and transcendent. Everything is set to release in September on Fire Talk (Dehd, Deeper, Mamalarky).
