Blue Dolphin was a wild and radiant punk band from Austin, Texas, active around 2016. In just a year, they created a buzzing and liberating sound, a dark blend of melody and existential gloom. The band gave birth to fractured and fast music, full of boldness and revelations. Robert's Lafitte is an explosion of darkness, resilience, mystery, and happiness, exactly what one would expect from a record named after the oldest gay bar in Texas, and from a band that may bear the name of the indescribable freedom of oceanic life or a type of ecstasy. The album contains all of Blue Dolphin's recordings, including the three self-released tapes and four unreleased songs.
