Hauteurs is Blondino's new album, in which she distills subliminal poetry in the service of soaring melodies. Her voice is so unique that it seems to insinuate itself into us to the point of dizziness, to envelop us in hope, a carnal and friendly voice that comforts us with humanity. A voice that dares to be itself. Around this fixed star revolve acoustic and synthetic music. Soundscapes that immerse the listener in a sensory bath and take them on a journey far away. Nothing is static in these long, atmospheric, dreamlike stretches where shadow succeeds light, and ecstasy follows languor. The band composed of Sly & Robbie, Junior Reid, Duckie Simpson, China Smith, Cat Coore, and Sky Juice delivers a major album in the band's career. Recorded at Tuff Gong, Dynamics, and Music Mountain studios, it was then mixed in Washington at Lion & Fox studios. Reissued only on CD in the early 2000s, this unprecedented version combines the original album and its dub version in the form of a 2 x 180g LP gatefold for the vinyl, making it a unique object that will be released remastered.
