The Shadow of the Guest is a new limited edition release from Blonde Redhead, following their acclaimed 2023 album Sit Down for Dinner, and will be released on October 24, 2025. Pressed on black vinyl and hand-numbered, the record features new extended versions of “Before,” “Rest of Her Life,” and “Via Savona,” recorded with the Brooklyn Youth Chorus. It also includes reimagined versions of the fan-favorite “For the Damaged Coda,” including a beautiful mariachi-inspired version, as well as a collection of ambient ASMR tracks created by Kazu. Dreamlike, intimate, and slightly surreal, The Shadow of the Guest offers a fresh look at the world of Sit Down for Dinner and beyond, inviting listeners to tap into the sense of childlike wonder and emotion that runs through the band’s work.
