With his new album Mutable Set, Grammy-winning producer, musician and singer/songwriter Blake Mills has crafted an album that captures all the dissonances of modern life. The record presents a musical universe without percussion, self-sufficient thanks to the melodies of the strings of his guitar. The instrumentation on the record is of a rare uniqueness, with natural and warm sounds. Mills surrounded himself with highly accomplished musicians while recording at the iconic Sound City Studio in Los Angeles: Aaron Embry (ElliotSmith, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros) on keyboards, Sam Gendel (Vampire Weekend, Moses Sumney) on saxophone, Rob Moose (Alabama Shakes, Bon Iver) on strings, Abe Rounds (Meshell Ndegeocello, Andrew Bird) as well as the legendary Pino Palladino (The Who, D'Angelo) on bass.
