Kentucky

Description

CD + DVD Edition: BLACK STONE CHERRY will release their fifth album on April 1st. Titled Kentucky, it will be the first record available on Mascot Label Group, their new label. This title is of course directly inspired by the state where the quartet lives. It also highlights a kind of return to their roots. It is no coincidence either that the recording was done at Barrick Recording, the very same place where the band recorded their first album 8 years ago. When talking about this new album, singer/guitarist Chris Robertson does not hide his enthusiasm: “We are more than happy to finally be able to release a record like Kentucky! Since the release of our first album, we wanted to come back to where it all started and it is finally possible! The studio owner, who is also the sound engineer, his great equipment and BLACK STONE CHERRY have once again come together to make a very special record. We went back to where we started and something magical happened. The heart and soul of these new songs reflect both who we were in 2006 and who we have become. There is something very special behind each of these tracks and I am very eager to be able to share them with the public!” And guitarist Ben Wells adds: “This is by far the heaviest, most aggressive album we have ever made. That was our goal, even if we went into the studio without being too prepared. We wanted our creativity to develop as the process went along. The studio and the team did the rest. Lyrically, a lot of people should be able to relate to our songs, because we talk about things we have experienced, or are currently experiencing. This is the first album we have been able to produce 100%. You can feel it. The listener is going to get hit right in the face”
