This is the sixth full album from the "flower punk" movement gurus from Atlanta, dating back to 2011 - finally back on vinyl and part of a "Fire" reissue series celebrating the 20th anniversary of the legendary garage rock gurus from Atlanta, Georgia. Arabia Mountain was recorded between Brooklyn and Atlanta in 2010, with the help of renowned producer Mark Ronson, Lockett Pundt from Deerhunter, and a human skull with a microphone stuck inside. "I was already a fan of the Black Lips and I absolutely didn't want to mess anything up," Mark Ronson told Rolling Stone. The production tests the limits of modern amplification, reminiscent of the full, meaty sound of Fun House by the Stooges or Lola Versus Powerman by the Kinks. The unrelenting Southern twang grinds with flowers blooming everywhere.
