With Inland See, Bitchin Bajas delivers a successor to Bajascillators (2022) that is as lucid as it is hypnotic, extending their quest for ambient trance with striking fluidity. Here, the band further refines their mastery of "time warping" and imperceptible movement, cultivating a translucent, almost aquatic soundscape where each track seems suspended out of time. The four tracks form a coherent yet autonomous whole, where a sense of immediacy blends with a molecular structure that is dense yet light. The album's writing, begun on the road during the Bajascillators tour, marks a rare occurrence in the trio's process. Their studio session at Electrical Audio allowed for a direct, unadorned capture: no added reverb, just the raw, natural acoustics of the room, recorded live. This choice reinforces the physicality of the sound, its anchoring in the moment, while maintaining that buoyancy characteristic of Bajas—somewhere between salt water and a helium balloon.
