Stay With Me comes from a 1955 session that produced only the seven songs on the album, with no additional tracks or alternative takes. The pianist originally scheduled for the session was Carl Drinkard, but he had a last-minute dispute with the singer and bassist Leonard Gaskin and was dismissed. Drummer Jo Jones was present at the session (although he did not play, with Cozy Cole being the drummer on all the performances), and he urgently called Billy Taylor to replace him. Recorded for Norman Granz, this session produced some of the best music Billie recorded during the final phase of her career. LPs on pure 180-gram virgin vinyl, in a gatefold sleeve.
