A reissue of Billie Holiday's classic album, "Lady Sings the Blues", released in 1956. It features the singer alongside stars such as Charlie Shavers, Harry "Sweets" Edison, Tony Scott, and Paul Quinichette. This edition also contains three tracks that complete the 1954 session, versions of the classic songs "Strange Fruit" and "God Bless the Child", as well as the album's title track, composed by Herbie Nichols. A 1955 track, featuring Billie Holiday with Charlie Shavers and Tony Scott, has also been added.
