" Everything's Getting Older " is the culmination of a collaboration between two accomplished artists: singer AIDAN MOFFAT (ARAB STRAP, THE PASTELS), a specialist in unexpected side projects (LUCKY PIERRE), and jazz bassist and multi-instrumentalist BILL WELLS (ISOBEL CAMPBELL, THE PASTELS). The result is a hybrid album, blending pop and jazzy atmospheres. The always fine and beautifully written lyrics of AIDAN MOFFAT, who sings about love, despair, and alcohol, are admirably supported by piano flourishes and other trumpet solos. " Everything's Getting Older ", recorded at Chem 19 in Blantyre and Ca Va in Glasgow, is thus an album on which each track, with pastel-colored landscapes, is graced by MOFFAT's crooner voice, oscillating between whispers and subtle melodies, constantly taking us from joy to melancholy.
