Live at Ronnie Scott's

Description

These unreleased live recordings featuring an exceptional trio captured at the legendary Ronnie Scott come from the personal archives of drummer Jack DeJohnette. They have been carefully preserved for 50 years before being unearthed and cleaned up in terms of sound, in collaboration with the Bill Evans Estate. The tracks (many of which are standards by the American pianist) were recorded in July 1968 shortly after the famous trio concert at the Montreux Jazz Festival (Verve) during a month-long residency at Ronnie Scott in London. The artwork is taken from a beautiful, previously unreleased lithograph by the legendary illustrator David Stone Martin. The product includes a rich booklet with rare photos, as well as a conversation between Chick Corea and Jack DeJohnette, an interview with Eddie Gomez, unpublished texts by Brian Priestly and Zev Feldman, and more. The vinyl edition has been mastered by Bernie Grundman and pressed at 33 1/3 RPM by RTI. The tracklist includes versions of "Turn Out The Stars," "My Man's Gone Now," "Emily," "Spring Is Here," "Someday My Prince Will Come," "Round Midnight," "Quiet Now," "Alfie," "Stella By Starlight," etc. A MUST-HAVE!!
